Deep in the Australian interior known as the Outback there lives a race of fierce tribal warriors called the Takean. Soon after the coming of the rifts this society of hunters and warriors came to inhabit a large portion of the wasteland which dominates so much of post apocalyptic Australia. The Takean people trace their origins back to the same world as the infamous Brodkil demons of Europe, and these two powerful cultures have brought with them to earth a fierce racial hatred that has endured for centuries. The Brodkil were actually the first of the two races to discover the continent of Australia, colonizing a small portion of the outback and terrorizing it's human populace. The Takean culture is not as outwardly violent as the Brodkil, in fact they are more likely to begin a trade relationship than a war with a non threatening civilization. Upon discovering the link to this new world the Takean began a large scale migration to the Australian continent, in the resulting war the Takean decimated the Brodkil invaders with a savagery that betrayed the darkest side of their people. A century later, no Brodkil demon has been seen anywhere in Australia. The Takean are a race of tall muscular humanoids with dense tan hides and a mane of sixteen inch long, bronze coloured quills which they can hurl with deadly accuracy. They are bipedal and their heavily muscled arms end in two thick fingers and an opposable thumb. They disdain the use of modern armours and weaponry preferring to rely on their natural abilities in close combat, however they do realize the need for long range mega damage weapons. Takean warriors are particularly fond of rail guns and flechette weapons.
